U16 Boys Division 1 – National Champions!

Marist Red boys took the Championship tonight in front of a packed house at Dio.

The game against North Harbour Maroon was tight, ending in a 4-4 draw and going into penalties. After a first round of even hits and misses, it was the beginning of the sudden death round that saw Louie find the back of the net after a NH miss, giving the boys the well deserved and hard worked for title.

Billy Simpson was named in the tournament team, and Louie Ferigo was named MVP of the tournament.

Thank you to Olly for coaching the team to the best they can be and, after years of preparation, leading them to the title. And thank you to Peter for managing, and at times coaching, the team so ably through the season. You were fantastic!!!
