Marist Water Polo Academy
The Marist Water Polo Academy offers high-performance training for male and female players aged 14-18yrs, including field players and goalkeepers. With a focus on pushing athletes to excel both in and out of the pool, the academy provides specialised sessions that combine dryland exercises and pool training. Guided by experienced coaches, players will refine their techniques, enhance decision-making, and master tactical skills in a personalised, small-group environment with a maximum coach-to-player ratio of 10:1.
The academy is led by accomplished coaches with impressive credentials. Nick Forgie, Rowan Ellyett, and Baillee Swindells are all age-grade national champions and bring experience from representing NZ Water Polo in various age-grade teams, along with playing at the senior level for Marist. Drawing inspiration from Nick’s time at the Barcelona International Water Polo Academy (BIWPA) where he trained under elite Olympic-level mentors, the Marist Academy ensures participants receive world-class instruction tailored to their development goals.
Training sessions take place on Tuesday evenings at Sacred Heart Aquatic Centre, starting February 4th and running for nine weeks. The cost is $230 for weekly 1.5-hour sessions. Whether you’re aiming for elite competition or simply improving your game, this is the ideal opportunity to take your skills to the next level. Spaces are limited, so secure your spot today!
