Training

Training sessions are held once a week on a Sunday at Sacred Heart College pool during Term 1, 2, and 3. Training in Term 4 depends on pool availability and demand. Sessions will typically be 1 hour and 45 mins long; 15 min dryland/warmup, 30 min swim and 1 hour Water Polo skills/game. Players attend one of three training sessions and are assessed by the head coach and allocated to the session that matches their skill level.Note they are re-assessed regularly.

Term 1 2020 Training Dates

Every Sunday commencing Sunday 2 February 2020 to Sunday 5 April 2020.

Due to maintenance being carried out at the Sacred Heart Pool, the first four training sessions starting Sunday 2 February 2020 will be held at Epsom Girls Grammar School Aquatic Centre, Silver Road, Epsom. Players will attend one of three training sessions between 12.30pm and 3.30pm. From Sunday 1 March 2020, training will resume at the Sacred Heart Pool. Players will attend one of three training sessions between 10.15am and 3pm.

Competitions

Tauranga Tournament

Marist participate in the Tauranga Under 12 Tournament which is usually held during Easter Weekend at Baywave Pools, Mount Maunganui. The number of teams that attend is dependant on demand, accomodation and pool availability.

Queen's Birthday

Marist participate in the Under 12 Tournament held during Queens Birthday Weekend at Mountford Park Aquatic Centre, Manurewa, Auckland.

Jelly Belly

Jelly Belly Under 12 tournament is usually held the last weekend of the July school holidays at Millennium Institute of Sport & Health (Auckland, North Shore).

Tournament of Olympic Hopefuls

Olympic Hopefuls is the final Under 12 tournament of the year and usually held the last weekend of September at Millennium Institute of Sport & Health (Auckland, North Shore).

All players are required to wear the Marist t-shirt and Marist togs to all tournaments. For exact dates please refer to the NZWP Events Calendar.
